Mahila Spandana

WE, at ISDC believe that women were, are and will continue to be the epitome of courage and perseverance. In order to strive in this direction ISDC introduces the Mahila Spandana, which will work towards the improvement of socio-economic conditions of weaker and unreached sectors of society in general and women in particular, by providing them full time or part time employment opportunities and improving their standard of living. The institution also encourages independency of women by supporting them to start their own small-scale Cooperative industries, giving them ample opportunities to create, market and sell their goods/products at a respectable price.

Establishing co-operative societies completely managed by women is another flagship activity planned by ISDC and thereby ensuring complete female participation in Cooperative sector.

ISDC supports rural women livelihood opportunities and boost rural households’ incomes and overall socio-economic well-being, by providing them required business and financial knowledge, skills and support necessary to give them more control of their lives.

Objectives of Mahila Spandana :

  • To empower the women socially and economically through multi-pronged strategical efforts.
  • To encourage equivalent exposure to women engagement and decision-making in the Cooperative sector’s endeavors.
  • To demonstrate and replicate participatory approaches in the organization of women groups for effective utilization of credit resources leading to self-reliance.
  • To promote the federation and networking of women’s organisations for shaping and exchange of experiences, information and to develop skills in response management and social mobilization.
  • To promote and support the expansion of entrepreneurship skills among women.
